Claire and Paul recently had their post-wedding photographs at Surprise View and Watendlath in the Lake District near Keswick. They had had a small wedding at home but as keen fell runners who’d got engaged at Watendlath Tarn, they really wanted their portraits here in Lake District. After what felt like months of rain here in Cumbria, the sun came out and dare I say it… It was a little bit bright; having started at Surprise View (which I do feel is a surprise every time unlike it’s namesake in the Peak District, which I think is a bit underwhelming!) before heading up to Watendlath, we returned to the viewpoint before heading home as the sun had dropped and the clouds had moved in. We really had all kinds of light in the time we were out but this gives such a good variety to their photographs.
Post wedding photography sessions are a great way to continue celebrating your love story after the big day has passed, particularly if you particualry love an area but logistics don’t allow for you to get married there. If you’re looking for a picturesque location for your own post-wedding photos, consider the breathtaking views of Surprise View over Derwentwater in the Lake District, it really never disappoints.
