When I meet prospective clients to talk about their wedding, I can never stress to them enough the importance of my job getting not getting in the way of their day. Weddings are expensive and likely the only time in your life when you can get everyone you want to be in one place at one time and I feel so strongly that it’s totally not my job to take couples away from their friends and family for a second longer than I need to. Why? Because when you just got married you should be having FUN with those people who travelled a long way to be there, the people you love most and the people who you’ve not seen since like forever… Basically, I just love having fun too and watching people having fun at weddings makes me so incredibly happy. Last month I had the total delight of shooting Emily + Grant’s wedding at Top Farm, Tiffield, near Towcester and if I could pick just one word to describe their day, fun would be the one.

The day was full of laughter; button holes delivered in hard hats, toasts of Diet Coke, Donald lying on the stairs while getting ready (although I laughed so hard I can’t remember why!), the moment that Emily thought her dad had bought her a real life companion for Ralph the rabbit, climbing on hay bails, jelly shots and a human pyramid to name just a few… But the day wasn’t without some super emotional moments too (I love the feels as well!) and I shed a little tear as Emily stopped on her way up the aisle to embrace her grandmother.

Emily and Grant, your day was so perfectly ‘you’ and I had such a wonderful time celebrating with you both – and Ralph obviously! I know that there were so many sentimental touches that drove your wedding plans, not least choosing to have your wedding at Top Farm, and I loved hearing your mum’s stories about growing up there, Emily! Grab a Diet Coke everyone and enjoy my favourite bits of the day these guys became the Allsops.
