Remember to look up as you walk down that aisle!
I’ve got so much lovely stuff to blog from last year, it’s about time I pulled my finger out and got on with it. Charlene and Darren’s wedding at The William Cecil was so utterly gorgeous that it deserves so finally be unleashed on the internet! This day was full of emotion, tears, laughter, happiness and fun… A good old knees up that saw them exchange beautiful personalised vows in Corby old village church before heading to glorious Stamford. These guys… SO CUTE. Read on for some excellent advice from Charlene!
How did you meet?
Darren was my vet and looked after my dog.
Tell me your proposal story:
We went to Las Vegas on holiday, Darren took me for dinner at a restaurant in the Bellagio hotel. Afterwards we watched the water fountains outside & he got down on one knee & asked me. The next day he took me to the Grand Canyon to celebrate.
Why did you choose to have your wedding at The William Cecil?
We loved the feel of the hotel & the fact there was also a marquee. We booked a package & it included everything we wanted
What was it you loved about your outfits and accessories that made you choose them?
I knew as soon as I tried my dress on it was “the one”. I felt like a bride, it fitted perfectly and had the most amazing train. It was everything I’d imagined.
Tell me about the vision you had for your wedding including your theme/colour scheme/styling/flowers:
Our vision was classy, clean, timeless, no faff or gimmicks. Our colour scheme was Tiffany blue, which is a favourite colour of mine. We wanted something different and not what we had seen at other weddings.
What was your first dance and why did you choose it?
We had a mash up of
Flying without wings, Nothing’s gonna stop us now and Jonny be good.
We never wanted our first dance to be boring and just swaying from side to side so after watching a few YouTube videos we put together our own routine and practiced quite a lot in the run up to the wedding!
What were the most wonderful parts of the day for you?
All of it!
The church ceremony and declaring our love in front of all our family and friends, how relaxed and comfortable the wedding breakfast was, partying the night away and seeing everyone enjoying themselves… We just couldn’t wait to get married!
Why did you choose Hannah Hall Photography as your photographer, and what was your experience of your photography on the day?
We chose Hannah because we liked the look of her work and had read some amazing reviews and recommendations. We were not disappointed, Hannah was amazing on the day and fitted right in to our wedding party, she wasn’t just our photographer. We loved her humour and imagination and her genius at catching so many moments!
What would be your best bit of advice to other couples planning their wedding?
Remember it’s about the two of you no one else! Don’t worry about the little things, it all comes together in the end! Relax, enjoy it and try and catch five minutes together to take it all in. And remember to look up as you walk down that aisle!
