December weddings are, in my opinion, always big parties as people wind down for the holidays and that hint of festive always gets people in the party spirit. Helena and Jack’s stylish winter wedding was no exception and their guests really did bring the party to their day! Helena and Jack aren’t ones for traditions that don’t serve them so instead of cutting a cake they sprayed champagne before entering their evening reception through a tunnel of sparklers. Festive perfection! Grab a brew and make yourself comfortable, this one’s a (Christmas) cracker!

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THE VENUE YOU CHOSE FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY?

We got married at Dodmoor house. We chose this venue because I really wanted a winter wedding, and it’s perfect with the barns and all of the fairy lights. The staff were amazing from start to finish and honestly we felt like it was just the perfect choice for us.

TELL ME ABOUT THE VISION YOU HAD FOR YOUR WEDDING INCLUDING YOUR THEME/COLOUR SCHEME/STYLING/FLOWERS:

We wanted very clean decor with a strong theme of greenery with white flowers. We also had lots of candles which I think worked perfectly for the winter theme. As Dodmoor House is made up of two barns, you can really transform the space to how you’d like and the garland flowers down the middle of our trestle tables worked really well.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE HANNAH HALL PHOTOGRAPHY AS YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER, AND WHAT WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE OF YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY ON THE DAY?

We really wanted authentic photos that captured the feeling on the day. We knew we didn’t want to spend hours having staged pictures, but we wanted candid pics of all our guests and this is definitely Hannah’s speciality. We also really resonated with her editing style- a lot of photos i’ve seen seem really washed out in terms of colour, whereas Hannah’s are always so vibrant! We love the movement and energy Hannah manages to capture. In our pre-wedding meetings, she also gave us a lot of her professional advice on how to ensure we got all the pictures we wanted which was extremely useful, and put us completely at ease with her bubbly and friendly personality.
