Claire over at The English Wedding Blog shared this lovely shoot the other day and I thought it was worthy of popping on my own blog. I know that styled shoots are sometimes considered to be a little contentious but as long as folk working on them are transparent and not passing them off as real weddings, I quite enjoy working on them as it affords me time to shoot for myself a little more. Sometimes though, I think while they’re aspirational for couples they can often be unrealistic for many budgets, but this shoot felt really grounded and very achievable. This shoot used spring Sicilian wedding styling to bring a wonderful pop of colour to this unique venue, The Old Church in Minishant, Ayrshire.

The shoot and concept were planned by Gill at Artisan Weddings Ayrshire and her daughter Emma, Velvet Apple Events. Their styling embraced vibrant pops of yellow using lemons and plenty of rusks and eucalyptus that really encapsulates that Mediterranean feel. Sonia from Tass Florals created a phenomenal bouquet full of movement and texture with button hole to match and Francesca from Snowdrop Wedding Cakes executed an absolutely flawless cake, as per.

It was so lovely to have a headpiece from Viviembellish Bridal as part of the shoot; I photographed Georgie’s first ever campaign when I still lived in the midlands and wore her bespoke earrings when I got married, so it really felt like a full circle moment to have one of her pieces on a shoot. Kitty from Kathleen Richmond Couture provided two stunning outfits, a dress and a jumpsuit which would make the perfect evening change or a standalone outfit for a more intimate wedding, it’s just so versatile. As ever it was brilliant to work with Eve & Callum (The Madeleys) who are without doubt the most exceptional model couple I’ve ever worked with. To round up the day there had to be a little confetti, wonderful petal confetti from my friends at Shropshire Petals (don’t forget use HANNAH10 for 10% off orders over £50).

All in all a brilliant day, and hopefully some inspiration for couples looking for Spring Sicilian wedding styling for their own wedding day.

If you’ve ended up here because you’re looking for an Ayrshire wedding photographer, or perhaps a little closer to home in Cumbria then please do have a good look around and get in touch to chat more about your plans, I’d love to hear from you.
