If you were concerned about rain on your wedding day, Peta & Rich are the couple to prove the weather won’t put a dampener on your day – or photography! They married a couple of weeks before Christmas at Oakham School chapel, followed by a glitzy, winter wonderland reception at gorgeous Halstead House Farm in Tilton on the Hill, Leicestershire.

Whatever time of year, I always tell my brides to have alternative footwear in case of unplanned weather, or something a little out of the ordinary, and these two were ready with their wellies… It was a good job too, as it rained all morning and the ground was sodden and slippy, combined with gale force winds. Peta and Rich were resilient and real troopers who braved the elements for the sake of their wedding photographs and I’m sure you’ll agree it was worth re positioning the veil and donning the wellies for!

Peta wore a stunning Mori Lee gown with the perfect amount of sparkle for a winter wedding. The dress code was black tie, and the Rutland Big Band were the perfect accompaniment for an evening of dancing. The twelve tables were aptly named after the Twelve Days of Christmas, which of course called for a sing-song – with actions I would add – and the room was dressed with every ounce of glamour and elegance you’d expect just before Christmas. Perfect.

This was such a fabulous wedding to see out the end of my first full wedding season, and I had such a blast shooting it. I’m looking forward to exploring a little more of the grounds at Halstead when I return there later this year.
