“I loved how all the photos are action shots capturing memories!”
SHOCKING TRUE FACT. I had NEVER been to the Lake District until last year, but within minutes of being there it had stolen my heart, so I was delighted that I’d get to return when Natalie + Phil booked me to shoot their Lake District garden wedding earlier this year. I really love it when couples are able to celebrate their weddings in the grounds of their family homes; Natalie’s parents have the most wonderful house not far south of Windermere where they were able to set up a huge marquee in the garden and decorate it full of personal touches – it was so fun watching the last minute setting up in the morning while I shot bridal prep!
How did you meet?
We went to primary school together, however met when we both worked in a local pub.
Tell me your proposal story:
For our ten year anniversary Phil took me away for the weekend, we went to Cardiff. The proposal was nice and relaxed, and very casual in our room after we had got in from a lovely meal.
Why did you choose the venue your chose for your wedding day?
My mum and dads new home! We always wanted it to be a personal wedding with our own spin/added touches.
What was it you loved about your outfits and accessories that made you choose them?
I loved my shoes, they were vintage looking and practical, and I also loved the back of my dress! The colour of my bridesmaids dress was perfect. I loved seeing the boys all suited and booted too.
Tell me about the vision you had for your wedding including your theme/colour scheme/styling/flowers:
I always wanted it to be rustic with the use of the logs, crates milk churns! My bridesmaid Amanda (creative milky/hobbit cottage) did all of my stationery invites, boards, signs etc. I made a lot of the signs too which was nice. My sister in law arranged all of our flowers for the church and tables, I just wanted white and greenery.
What was your first dance and why did you choose it?
Ed Sheran’s Perfect. We just thought the lyrics where apt to us.
What were the most wonderful parts of the day for you?
The morning, loved getting ready with my girls and family and the speeches… the dancing… Loved the whole day!
Why did you choose Hannah Hall Photography as your photographer, and what was your experience of your photography on the day?
Hannah was recommended to us by a local photographer; I loved her work, so we went ahead and booked! Hannah made us feel so at ease and relaxed, none of our guests realised she was there most of the time. I loved how all the photos are action shots capturing memories! Hannah was brilliant, professional and friendly!
What would be your best bit of advice to other couples planning their wedding?
Plan early, but don’t stress! It will all happen! Most of all enjoy your day!
