It’s been a little while since I was last at Low Wood Bay but it was nice to be back as the season turns. Jodie & Lucas chose an intimate Low Wood Bay wedding for their day as they were completely sold on the amazing views over Windermere; you only have to look at their portraits to see why!

It was also a real joy to work with Lake District wedding videographer, Farrow Films. At the end of another busy wedding season it’s really nice to be able to work alongside another creative who brings to much energy to the day and of course it’s always nice to be in the company of another Norfolkian.

Jodie & Lucas celebrated with their immediate families and closest friends and of course Daisy the dog, who was the real star of the show and it was so lovely to spend a couple of hours with them soaking up the autumn air. Maximum kudos to Jodie who embraced the slightly damp grass on the fell for her photos. A proper Lake District wedding!

If you’re planning at intimate Low Wood Bay wedding, or perhaps a larger one, I’d love to chat some more – do get in touch to share your plans.

How did you meet?

In high school! Lucas asked me for a good few years to be his girlfriend before I finally said yes.

Tell me your proposal story

We went for a day out in the Lake District at Beatrix potters cottage with the dog (obviously). We walked to a private stream and bench and Lucas asked the question! I was super nervous as I knew what was coming!

Why did you choose an intimate Low Wood Bay wedding for your day?

We chose Low Wood Bay as the hotel is amazing and we love the view of Windermere from the hotel.

What was it you loved about your outfits and accessories that made you choose them?

Lucas loved his suit as it was super comfortable and fitted. He also loved his suede shoes. I chose my accessories around my earrings, my Nan gave me her earrings which was really special.

Tell me about the vision you had for your wedding

We went for a rustic look as it’s autumn. The arch and signage we made ourselves and our amazing florist did the real flowers which turned out better than we ever imagined!

What were the most wonderful parts of the day for you?

The ceremony was really special as we had personalised vows and we really enjoyed walking up the field with Daisy and getting covered in sheep poo with Hannah and James.

Why did you choose Hannah Hall Photography as your photographer, and what was your experience of your photography on the day?

Hannah was second to none, she was absolutely amazing. She had a great eye for detail and knew straight away what the plan was which relaxed us. We chose Hannah as every couple whose photos we saw we were blown away. We had a videographer also and although they had never worked together they worked brilliantly and put our minds at rest. It was a really fun time and although being in front of the camera isn’t the most natural thing for us, Hannah made it so easy.

What would be your best bit of advice to other couples planning their wedding?

Make sure you book Hannah as your photographer!

Make sure it’s personal to you and remember why you’re doing it, the little stresses are not the end of the world – and if you get married in autumn bring wellies!!
